Call Transfers: Let Vera Pass Callers to the Right Person
When Vera answers and a caller should reach someone, she can transfer the call to a destination you have named, such as "Sales", "Dave" or "After-hours emergencies". Write when to use each one in plain words. Each line can have up to 20 destinations and one default. You set them up in the web console. Transferring to a phone number works on any plan with Vera answering; transferring to a teammate needs Vera Plus or Business.

Add a destination
In the web console, open Numbers, choose the line, and go to Transfers.
- Give the destination a name callers might ask for.
- Choose a US or Canadian phone number, or a teammate who has access to that line.
- Describe when Vera should use it, for example "quotes over $5,000" or "existing customers asking about an install".
- Optionally make one destination the default for callers who need a person but match no rule.
What the caller experiences
Vera learns who is calling and why, then connects the caller to the matching destination. A phone destination rings for about 20 seconds. If nobody answers or the line is busy, the caller can leave a message, and the details they already gave Vera are saved for you.
- There is no "press 1 to accept" step. If the destination's own voicemail picks up, the caller is connected to it.
- History shows which destination Vera chose.
- A transfer nobody answered appears in Needs you so you can follow up.
Numbers you can't transfer to
To prevent calls from looping back, Vera will not transfer to a VeraDial number, to the line itself, or to the phone whose calls you forward to VeraDial. Choose another number, or let the call ring your VeraDial app.
FAQ
Do transferred calls use my calling minutes?
The connected leg counts as calling minutes, like other calls that reach a person. See Pricing for your plan's allowance.
Can I set up transfers in the mobile app?
Not yet. Transfers are managed in the web console at app.veradial.com.
