What it does
AI Receptionist capabilities.
Answers questions, not just the phone
Vera answers from your business profile: what you do, when you're open, what things cost, how booking works. A caller asking "are you open right now?" gets a real answer — Vera knows your hours and your timezone — instead of a message-taking loop.
Three endings, all covered
Callers who need you get connected through. Routine questions get answered and the call ends resolved — your phone never rings. Everyone else leaves a message. Whatever happens, you get a push notification with a transcript and a one-line summary.
Built from your website
Paste your website URL and Vera learns your business — services, hours, pricing, tone. Everything is editable in the app: your greeting (with a live audition), business hours, booking policy, and a free-form notes field for the things only you know.
Per-line control
Each number decides for itself. Run Vera on your main line and let a direct line ring through untouched — or answer as a different business on each number you own.
Transparent by design
Vera identifies as an AI assistant and discloses recording at the start of the call. She only says what you've taught her — no invented prices, no made-up availability — and flags anything she can't resolve for you to handle.
In practice
Who uses ai receptionist?
Solo contractor
Phone rings while you're underneath a sink. Vera answers, tells the caller your service area and that you're booked until Thursday, and takes their details for a callback. You finish the install and see the summary — no voicemail tag, no lost lead.
Salon owner mid-appointment
A caller asks what a cut and color costs and whether you're open Saturday. Vera answers both from your profile and shares how to book. The call resolves without ringing you — you see "Vera handled a call" with the transcript when you're done with your client.
Freelancer after hours
A call lands at 9 PM. Vera answers, tells the caller you're closed and when you open, and takes a message. You wake up to a transcript and a callback that takes ninety seconds.
FAQ
Common questions.
Does it sound like a real receptionist?
Vera sounds natural and conversational, but she identifies herself as an AI assistant on every call. We don't build tools that pretend to be a person — that's a trust line we won't cross.
What can Vera actually answer?
Anything in your business profile: services, hours (including whether you're open right now), pricing you've configured, booking policy, service area, parking — plus a free-form knowledge field for anything else. She won't invent answers beyond what you've given her.
What happens when a caller needs me personally?
Vera connects the call through to your phone. If you don't pick up, the caller can leave a message and you get the transcript. Calls Vera can't resolve are never silently dropped — they either reach you or reach your inbox.
Can it book appointments on my calendar?
Vera states your booking policy on calls and shares your booking link over text when customers ask to schedule. Direct calendar-aware booking is on the roadmap — we'll ship it when it can't invent commitments on your behalf.
How long can she talk, and what does it cost?
Conversations run up to a 3-minute max duration, with 50 screenings per day per line. Answering is part of your subscription — connected call time bills like a normal inbound call.
