Connect Google Calendar and Let Vera Book Appointments
On Vera Plus or during an eligible trial, Vera can offer and confirm 30-minute appointments while screening an inbound call. You choose the hours and phone lines; Vera checks free/busy availability and writes confirmed appointments to a separate VeraDial Bookings calendar in your Google account.

Before you connect
Booking stays off until VeraDial has explicit business hours and a valid timezone. This is deliberate: Vera will not invent availability from prose or assume that a missing schedule means you are free.
- Use Vera Plus or an eligible trial account.
- In Manage Vera, open Business profile and confirm your business hours and timezone.
- Make sure the VeraDial phone line that should accept appointments has the correct business profile and hours.
Connect Google Calendar
Open VeraDial on your phone and go to Manage Vera → Calendar booking → Connect Google Calendar. Google opens its own authorization screen; VeraDial never receives your Google password.
- Choose the Google account whose main calendar reflects when you are busy.
- Review and approve the requested Calendar access.
- Return to VeraDial and confirm that the screen shows Connected with the correct Google account email.
- Leave booking on All lines, or choose the exact VeraDial lines where Vera may offer appointments. Selecting no lines pauses booking without disconnecting Google.
What Vera can see—and what it cannot
VeraDial creates a separate calendar named VeraDial Bookings. It requests only free/busy time ranges from your main Google calendar and that Bookings calendar, then creates and manages events only on the calendar it created.
- VeraDial cannot read the titles, descriptions, attendees, or contents of events on your other calendars.
- VeraDial cannot modify your main calendar or any other calendar it did not create.
- Events on other secondary Google calendars are not checked and will not block a booking.
- Keep your main calendar and VeraDial Bookings calendar accurate if they represent time that should be unavailable.
What callers experience
When an eligible caller asks to book during screening, Vera can offer up to three available times and confirm the caller's choice. Appointments are 30 minutes, start at least one hour in the future, and are offered within the next seven days using your business timezone.
- Callers can ask for a day or a part of day such as tomorrow morning or Friday afternoon.
- Vera rechecks availability before confirming so two calls do not intentionally take the same slot.
- The confirmed event appears in VeraDial Bookings and includes the caller and stated reason when available.
- VeraDial also records the booking in your account and sends a notification tied to the call.
Pause, reconnect, or disconnect
You can pause one line by removing it from the selected booking lines, pause all new bookings by selecting no lines, or disconnect Google entirely. If Google revokes or expires the connection, VeraDial marks it for reconnection instead of guessing at availability.
- Disconnecting stops new bookings and revokes VeraDial's Google access.
- Your VeraDial Bookings calendar and existing Google events remain in Google Calendar after disconnecting.
- Existing appointment records remain in VeraDial until you delete your account under the normal retention rules.
FAQ
Does Vera read everything on my Google Calendar?
No. VeraDial requests free/busy time ranges from your main calendar and the VeraDial Bookings calendar it creates. It cannot read event titles, descriptions, attendees, or contents on your other calendars, and it cannot modify them.
Why is Vera not offering appointments?
Check that your plan or trial is eligible, Google shows Connected, your business hours and timezone are confirmed, and the called VeraDial line is selected for booking. Selecting no lines pauses booking even though Google remains connected.
Will events on every Google calendar block a time?
No. VeraDial checks your main Google calendar and the separate VeraDial Bookings calendar. Events on other secondary calendars are not consulted, so copy or move any blocking commitments to a checked calendar.
What happens to booked events if I disconnect?
New booking stops and VeraDial's Google access is revoked. The VeraDial Bookings calendar and events already written there remain in your Google account until you remove them in Google Calendar.
